To guarantee an optimal lifespan for the medals, it is recommended to install them if possible in a location sheltered from the elements as much as possible (rain, hail, snow, friction and dirt, etc.). The ideal is to fix them vertically and not horizontally.
The reason is very simple: if the medal is fixed horizontally in a poorly protected place, drops of water, sand, pollen, resins or other dust will have difficulty evacuating. In the long term, this dirt risks impacting the aesthetic appearance, causing the steel to begin to corrode or hindering the readability of the QR code.
To clean your medals and ensure a shiny appearance, we recommend maintaining them by applying a protective spray layer from time to time, for example WD40 lubricant, easily found commercially.
