Connected medals have been installed across the Nord vaudois to help visitors discover unusual and historic sites throughout the region. The Association pour le développement du nord vaudois (ADNV) unveiled the very first Genius Loci medals in Switzerland, right here in Vuiteboeuf.

The project was initiated by Sébastien Lassueur, Director of Unit and Market at the ADNV. Its goal is to bring hidden and overlooked places across the Nord vaudois into the spotlight. Genius Loci medals were offered to local municipalities, each of which will develop its own trail, highlighting the heritage sites it wishes to showcase. Municipalities will also engage their residents and the owners of buildings of heritage significance. The medium-term ambition is to roll out an inter-municipal medal network connecting a large share of the region’s 70 municipalities — including towns such as Yverdon, Sainte-Croix, Vallorbe, Orbe and Romainmôtier.
To kick off content creation within the Genius Loci platform, a citizen workshop was organised in collaboration with the Genius Loci team. Alongside the medals, the municipality of Vuiteboeuf chose to add interpretation panels to mark its 1,000th anniversary.
