The "Paroles de Mélèze" project was initiated by Michel Aberson (linguist) and Michel Borzykowsky (photographer), two passionate heritage enthusiasts. The village of Vercorin in the Swiss canton of Valais (Val d'Anniviers) is home to more than forty historic chalets, each bearing ancient, well-preserved inscriptions. The story of these chalets and the families who built them unfolds through the Genius Loci heritage medals.
