Genius Loci’s business model is built on selling custom stainless steel medals linked to interactive digital spaces dedicated to promoting local heritage. We operate primarily B2B: our clients are cities, villages, municipalities and tourist regions. Some owners of exceptional private properties (castles, parks, gardens…) have also adopted Genius Loci.

Here are our main revenue streams:

1. Medal sales: Cities, villages, tourist offices, associations and other cultural institutions can purchase custom medals marked with unique QR codes. These medals let visitors access a dedicated digital space that reveals information about the place with a simple scan

2. Genius Loci digital solution: Beyond the physical medals, we offer a web platform where content can be co-created, automatically translated into many languages and enriched with usage statistics. Users can also manage multiple contributors and medals through a dedicated interface.
Long-term content hosting is included in the base “Médailles Genius Loci” pack

3. Workshops and support: We offer combined packages including medals, technical support and an in-person workshop to help municipalities launch the project, discover and test our technology and train their citizens

4. Genius Loci Pro: We are launching an optional but powerful subscription-based digital solution, built on Genius Loci’s core infrastructure. Institutions that take a Genius Loci Pro licence will access detailed statistics on medal usage and footfall, create themed trails and custom maps, promotional landing pages, and the “Dashboard”: a tool for centralised management of a large medal portfolio at regional level.

In short, Genius Loci combines physical medal sales with a robust digital offering, enabling localities to showcase their heritage in a modern, interactive way while providing detailed management and analytics tools.
