Why is Genius Loci considered an «invention»?

Successful inventions often look simple, almost obvious. Yet they solve a complex problem in an elegant way. That is true of Genius Loci.
First, it is a form of phygital signage (both physical and digital) that is fully dynamic — meaning content and its structure are not created statically. From a single medal, you can activate a new place and publish content immediately, without calling on a specialist agency or a webmaster.
Genius Loci also brings together the physical medal, a webApp for viewing content and an advanced management interface for optimal layout and fine-grained writing permissions — enabling a collaborative approach to showcasing tangible and intangible heritage at local and regional level.
The inventive character of Genius Loci is further protected by a design patent on the medal.
